  Openwave Integra

Openwave Integra is a next-generation proxy designed to rapidly enable open, secure multimedia and multi-protocol service deployment on converged networks.

As converged networks and new technologies continue to evolve and become more complex, consumers expect a more sophisticated content and communications experience for their money. They expect an experience that is personalized, secure and seamless across networks and devices.

To compete, operators need to deliver an experience that is easy to access and easy to use. They must be able to leverage new business models around mobile advertising and quickly launch new services that capitalize on the mobile Internet phenomenon.

Openwave Integra shows the evolution of Openwave's market-leading mobile access gateway into a multimedia, multi-protocol-supported proxy. Integra provides a platform with open interfaces that is designed to flexibly address the market's need for fast, open and secure service management. Integra can rapidly scale and deploy new mobile data services across converging access networks and devices.

Operator Benefits

Integra enables rapid service introduction to help monetize the services that subscribers want. It speeds the deployment of highly differentiated services across a number of service protocols (HTTP, HTML, RTSP). Integra provides seamless backward compatibility with WAP infrastructure to give operators an avenue to expand the capabilities of their existing mobile gateway infrastructure with the option of driving new value-added services and monetization opportunities.

Subscriber Benefits

Integra improves the subscriber experience with faster access to context-based, relevant content (multimedia and off-net) while protecting against undesirable content across more protocols. Integra provides easier access to more services in a highly integrated services ecosystem that is easy to use and relevant to each subscriber.

Optional Value-added Applications

Openwave offers enhanced service options that are optimized to work with Integra or individually. The following options are available:
  • OpenWeb enables operators to offer consumers a broader range of content choices by delivering full Internet web pages in a user-friendly and device-intelligent format to any mobile data-enabled device. OpenWeb offers content adaptation, Java-script handling, improved navigation options and content caching.

  • Mobile Security Suite delivers a multi-protocol, multi-service defense across messaging, browsing and downloads, guarding against the rapidly growing variety of threats to mobile services. Features include content categorization and analysis. The flexible architecture is designed to allow additional security applications to be added quickly as new threats emerge.

  • Contextual Merchandising is a targeted content and advertising solution that provides contextually-based premium or portal links dynamically inserted into the content that is being accessed by the user.

  • Multimedia Transcoding is a dynamic audio and streamed content transcoding that includes the rendering of Adobe Flash™ content.

  • Client-Server Optimization include clients for Windows 2000, Vista, MAC OS, Windows Mobile and Symbian. Client-based optimization can improve the access time by 4x, reducing latency and making efficient use of the infrastructure.

Openwave products and solutions help operators leverage their unique access to user data to deliver targeted, relevant content that will drive adoption of new revenue generating services.
